He Is Risen!

He is risen, indeed!

On Easter Sunday, we celebrated the resurrection of our Lord and God.

We started off with resurrection buns...sort of - we actually did this on Saturday (we believe He rose on Saturday evening, and since we had a church pot luck breakfast on Sunday morning...it just worked better for us to do it this way!)

Pillsbury Grands biscuits work best, peel them apart, put a marshmallow in place (which represents the body of Christ while was taken down from the cross and wrapped in linen), and seal the tomb (or biscuit).

Bake as directed.
When they come out, the marshmallow has melted, and there is just a little bit of gooey marshmallow in the biscuit.  The tomb is otherwise empty.  All we have is the linen wrap!

I wish I had a picture of Justice's face as he discovered that his tomb was empty this year!

After a wonderful Easter church service, where we focused on Joseph of Aramathia, we went to Chris' sister, April's house.

Where there was entirely too much good food!

A candy hunt for the children

And fun had by all!

April even went so far as to very unexpectedly give gifts to everyone!

Great Grandpa Pence was able to join us also.  There are just a couple of steps to get him up on the deck...I didn't see them carry him up the stairs, but I thought this was a bit scary!

The back wheels of his wheelchair are more narrow than the other 4 wheels...

So the chair had to be supported...we liked that the back of his hat said, "Safety First."  We thought it was ranking about third at best during this operation, lol!

He did make it down safely though!

Happy Easter!

He is risen!
He is risen, indeed!
