The twins are really getting excited about planting in the garden! We have had such a mild winter, that we are hoping it means early planting this year. In fact, we have already planted sugar snap peas and carrots.
In anticipation and excitement for planting, they have spent some time outside with our flock in the main garden patch, letting them get rid of the weeds, and old unwanted plants and growth. And in the process, they are doing a bit of fertilizing for us, too!
We have had an interesting development, however. We started with 12 hens and 1 rooster in November. Then 4 chicks hatched, and 3 survived. They have now joined the rest of the flock. When we were outside with them yesterday, we counted seventeen...we are not sure where that last chicken has come from! Today, we still have 17.
