An Ashley Date

I was presented with an invitation from Miss Ashley tonight.
It said, "Will you please take me out for a date tonight?"
She waited until Grandma got home and asked her to watch her siblings so we could go out...and discovered that Grandma is not feeling well, and was just saying hi before going to bed...

So Ashley ran out to tell Grandpa, "Mommy and I are going out on a date, and we need you to come in and watch everyone else."

He was gracious enough to oblige her.
We enjoyed dinner at Red Robin.
Where we had a cup of chowder each and split some cod and chips.
Then Ashley read some scripture aloud and we discussed it.  She chose Revelation as the book she wanted to read next.

We then went to Ben Franklin where we were able to look around for just a few minutes before they closed.

We ended our date with a quick trip through the Dairy Queen drive through to grab some ice cream on our way home.

It was a wonderful date!

Ashley is looking forward to learning more about the Bible this year, and is excited to get up early for morning devotions with Daddy starting tomorrow.  She is looking forward to the fair, and hopes that I will reconsider letting them get good confirmation chicks to show at the fair.  She is also looking forward to getting puppies!

  1. What a blessing that your children want to spend time with you. So many children don't want to spend time with their parents these days. You are SO blessed. What a beautiful young lady, Miss Ashley is.

  2. This is my favorite of all your blog posts! What a great way to spend an evening with your daughter. One-on-one time is so important!
